About Me

I knew from the age of 6 that I wanted to be a hairdresser. From the day I lined all my dolls up and styled their hair, while standing in my mums heels and red lipstick smeared all over my lips.

From the age of 13 I worked all the hours I possibly could in my local salon as an assistant, I loved the salon lifestyle. At 16 I went to college full time for 2 years and achieved my first 4 NVQ’s level 1 & 2 in Hairdressing and Wig Making.

I began my career in 1999 and have trained in every aspect of hairdressing and hair extensions. I worked with some of the most recognised brands within the UK offering hair services for ladies, gents and children, covering everything from a shampoo and set to celebrity hair extensions, to working at the BBC Studios.

Early within my career I came across a lady who had cancer. She wanted me to shave her hair off as it was already falling out in clumps due to chemotherapy. It was the saddest and hardest day of my career. I came across women with cancer often but not all the stories were the same. I met this amazing woman who had recovered from breast cancer. This lady wanted her hair back. It was her finale to the end of her treatment and winning her fight against cancer.. I suggested we make her a custom made wig that we attached to her remaining hair once she had completely finished her treatment and her hair had recovered from the gruelling treatment she had been through with chemotherapy.

While I hadn’t found a treatment for female hair loss, I found a solution to disguise hair loss. I had brought my wig making skills back and another door in my career opened. I now offer a bespoke service for hair loss for both male and female hair loss. It's a solution for hair loss due to chemotherapy, radiotherapy, alopecia, trichotillomania, lupus, cranial surgery and many more. I achieved diplomas in different hair loss solutions meaning there is no limit on what you can achieve. I had developed this skill of being able to replicate the hair you once had or always wanted!

In 2010 I married my childhood sweetheart. Then in 2011 we welcomed our first child. One year later, in 2012 Glam Extend was born and what a year it was! I welcomed back clients from when my career very first started and have gained some amazing clients along the way. In 2013 we welcomed our second child and, thankfully, I have managed to run a great business around my family.

After all these years in this beautiful industry I wanted more... I revisit and refresh my skills in make-up, so in 2020 I retrained to gain a new qualification in Make Up Artistry.

Finally in 2023 I completed my teaching degree and became Samantha Cannons MGHD MGTL.

Glam Extend Extended was created and we became an Accredited School offering Hair Extension Courses.

Lots of people ask how I do it - a husband, 2 children, 2 dogs, a gecko, a tortoise, being a wife, a mother, a cook, a cleaner and running my own business... The answer is simple everything falls into place and becomes easy when you do a job everyday that you love. It’s not a job, it’s a passion. I get to make other people feel and look amazing in their own skin... EVERYDAY… how amazing is that!!

Always find the time to invest in you... and the rest will follow.
